Valacyclovir is used in the treatment of herpes labialis, genital herpes infection and herpes simplex virus infections. It prevents the Multiplication of virus. It will stop the virus from producing new viruses and clear the infection. 

Common known side effects

Headache, Nausea, Abdominal pain, Increased liver enzymes, Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages)
